Outstanding Short-Term Rehabilitation Patients who choose to receive their rehabilitation at Oaklawn get the benefit of the industry’s most advanced techniques and equipment plus individual attention from highly skilled therapists. We focus on maximizing each patient’s strength, mobility and functional abilities in an atmosphere of dignity and encouragement. We also offer the special convenience of pre-registration, which simplifies the hospital discharge process and gives patients the security of knowing that a spacious, private room will be waiting for them at Oaklawn. To achieve the best outcome possible and improve the patient’s quality of life, each patient’s program of care is customized according to his or her particular needs. It may include physical, occupational, or speech therapy, or a combination of these services.
Oaklawn has been designed specifically to aid patients in their recuperation and to prepare them to enjoy their greatest level of independence when they return home. For example, we have built a fully functional kitchen and bathroom within our rehabilitation area so patients undergoing occupational therapy can practice the skills they need in daily life. If there’s some special hobby a patient enjoys, we will do all we can to prepare him or her to enjoy it once again, even if that means taking a patient out to our pond and helping him learn to cast for fish all over again! |
